AS THIS PROGRAM GROWS SO DOES ITS MONTHLY BUDGET WHICH MEANS WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR NEW FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES. THIS INCLUDES GRANTS AND INDIVIDUAL DONORS. WE HAVE ANOTHER BIG ANNOUNCEMENT TO SHARE AND THAT IS A FIRST TIME GRANT of $10,000 FROM THE STATEN ISLAND FOUNDATION. WE ARE SO THANKFUL TO HAVE THEIR SUPPORT AND ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO GROWING THIS INITIATIVE. PLEASE CONTACT MICHELE FOR SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES. The winning ticket was purchased by Phil Binder. Phil chose to give it back to the Giving Circle, earmarking his winnings for two Giving Circle initiatives, Nourish the Service and our newest, Community Garden Project. The winner donates to his/her favorite charity; it is not kept by the ticket holder. To participate, go to our website and donate via Venmo or PayPal. We suggest putting $60 (for six months or $100 for 10 months). |
Evelyn and Josue attended the unveiling of Josue’s most recent mural at Cespino-Russo American Legion Post 1544. This location was brought to our attention by longtime member, Pat Ursillo, in memory of her husband Joseph. |
MELODY ALESI WAS OUR GUEST THIS MONTH AND PERFORMED TWO HOLIDAY SONGS TO ANNOUNCE HER DECEMBER 9TH CONCERT AT CHRIST CHURCH. PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED FLYER FOR MORE INFOMATION. MELODY’S MISSION IS TO RAISE MONEY TO RESTORE THE BUILDINGS LANDMARK STAINED GLASS WINDOWS. |
OUR ANNUAL HOLIDAY LUNCH WILL BE HELD AT CANTERBURY HOUSE ON DECEMBER 7TH. WE WILL BE HOSTING SENIORS FROM CANTERBURY AND ACT CARES. ENTERTAINMENT WILL BE PROVIDED BY DJ MATTY AND SMALL GIFTS WILL BE PROVIDED TO THOSE WHO ATTEND. |

We get inquiries for teens looking to score service hours to satisfy school requirements. We have been recommending the students organize a collection of food (cereal, granola bars, fruit cups) to be used for our Food Insecurity initiatives. Students can create flyers, host the collection and deliver to the recipient for their service credit. Please contact us for a list of items needed. |
