SPECIAL THANKS TO ST PATRICK’S SCHOOL, ST CHARLES SCHOOL, AND IS72 FOR COLLECTING OVER 700 BOXES OF CEREAL.
THANK YOU TO GIRL SCOUT TROOP 5423 FOR COLLECTING BREAKFAST ITEMS AND OVER $700 TO SUPPORT OUR WEEKEND FOOD BACKPACK PROGRAM.

THANKS TO PS23 FOR THEIR COLLECTION OF CELEBRATION BAGS, WHICH INCLUDE CAKE MIX, FROSTING, CANDLES, PARTY SIGNS AND PAPER GOODS.

THIS SERVICE PROJECT IS TWOFOLD, RAISING AWARENESS OF FOOD INSECURITY AND THESE DONATIONS WILL ALLOW US TO PURCHASE THE OTHER MUCH NEEDED ITEMS TO FILL THE BACKPACKS.

AFTER JUST TWO DATES OF THE FOOD AND ESSENTIALS CLOSET BEING OPEN, WE HAVE SERVED OVER 85 SERVICE MEMBERS (ACTIVE AND VETERANS) AND THEIR FAMILIES.

WITH GENEROUS DONATIONS FROM ISLAND AUTO GROUP, LYNNE PERSING, ROUNDPOINT MORTGAGE AND BAYWAY REFINERY WE WILL BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE BEING OPEN TWO DAYS PER MONTH.

LOCATED ON FORT WADSWORTH WITH VOLUNTEERS FROM BLUE STAR FAMILIES THIS SITE WILL BE OPEN TWICE PER MONTH BEGINNING IN MARCH.



BSA PACK/TROOP 88 HOSTED A COLLECTION OF NEW CLOTHING ITEMS: CHILDREN’S UNDERWEAR, SWEATSHIRTS AND JACKETS.

THESE ITEMS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED AS NEEDS ARE IDENTIFIED.



CONGRATULATIONS TO SOUTH SHORE COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY FOR RECEIVING AN EIN NUMBER, GETTING THEM ONE STEP CLOSER TO THEIR 501(c)(3) DESIGNATION.

JOE MEIZLIK IS AN AMAZING COMMUNITY PARTNER AND WORKS TIRELESSLY TO SERVE THIS COMMUNITY.



BOB SWEENEY HAS BEEN ABLE TO INCREASE HIS TRIPS TO THE FERRY TERMINAL TO HELP THE HOMELESS POPULATION. BOB ENGAGES IN CONVERSATIONS WITH THOSE HE MEETS AND LEAVES THEM WITH A LITTLE RAY OF HOPE BY SHARING THE SEASON’S MOST NEEDED ITEMS: (CURRENTLY) THERMAL UNDERWEAR, SOCKS, GLOVES AND DUNKIN GIFT CARDS SO THEY CAN HAVE A HOT MEAL. HE WILL OFTEN SHARE A PHOTO WITH US WITH THE PEOPLE HE MEETS AS A WAY TO SHOW US THEIR GRATITUDE.



THE STATEN ISLAND QUILTERS GUILD HAS SELECTED THE GIVING CIRCLE TO BE THE RECIPIENT OF THIER ANNUAL QUILT RAFFLE. WE WERE THE LUCKY BENEFICIARIES A FEW YEARS AGO AND ARE SO VERY THANKFUL FOR THEIR CONTINUED SUPPORT.

RAFFLE TICKETS MAY BE PURCHASED AT OUR MEETINGS OR BY CONTACTING US.

OUR SUPERBOWL FUNDRAISER WAS A GREAT SUCCESS AND ALLOWED US TO RAISE $1000.

THIS MONEY HAS BEEN EARMARKED FOR A CLOTHING AND TOILETRIES CLOSET AT MCKEE HIGH SCHOOL.



The winning tickets were purchased by Carole Speth who chose our WFBP and Merle Flamhaft who chose Nourish the Service. Each initiative will receive $215.

The winner donates to his/her favorite charity; it is not kept by the ticket holder.

EACH MONTH WE WILL SHARE AND HIGHLIGHT OUR MONTHLY SERVICE PROJECT FLYER, SEE BELOW.

OUR COLLECTION THIS MONTH INCLUDES PANCAKE MIX, SYRUP, GRANOLA BARS AND OATMEAL.





We get inquiries for teens looking to score service hours to satisfy school requirements. We have been recommending the students organize a collection of food (cereal, granola, fruit cups) to be used for our Weekend Food Backpack Program.

Students can create flyers, host the collection and deliver to the recipient for their service credit.
Please contact us for a list of items needed.



PLEASE PUT A HOLD ON USED CLOTHING AND BOOK DONATIONS.

WE HAVE RECEIVED GENEROUS DONATIONS OF BOTH AND NEED TO FIND HOMES BEFORE WE CAN ACCEPT ADDITIONAL DELIVERIES.
